A little more about us.
The story, values and thoughtful approach behind MiniPigus.

A small website with a thoughtful purpose
MiniPigus is an independent educational project for people who are curious about miniature pet pigs. We believe good care starts with honest expectations: pigs are intelligent, complex animals with real physical, social and behavioural needs. They are not accessories, novelty gifts or guaranteed pocket-sized companions.
Our goal is to make the first steps of research easier. You will find plain-English explanations of common questions, practical ideas for enriching a pig’s daily life and reminders about issues best discussed with a qualified veterinarian.
What we believe
Responsible ownership comes first. A charming piglet photograph should never hide the realities of mature size, legal requirements, veterinary access or long-term costs. We encourage prospective owners to research thoroughly and consider established rescue organisations when possible.
Behaviour has meaning. Rooting, exploring and learning are not inconveniences to suppress. We aim to share constructive ways to accommodate natural behaviour and build calm routines.
Medical advice belongs with professionals. An article can help you prepare questions. It cannot examine an animal, consider its full history or provide emergency care. Readers should find a veterinarian experienced with pigs before they need urgent help.
Our editorial approach
This site is written in accessible English for a general audience. Information is organised into focused guides, short practical checklists and frequently asked questions. We strive to distinguish general guidance from individual medical decisions. Where topics are specialised, we refer readers to veterinary resources rather than presenting ourselves as a clinic.
MiniPigus does not currently offer veterinary consultations, sell pigs or manage adoptions. We do not publish invented testimonials, fabricated expert biographies or endorsements. If this project introduces named contributors in the future, their roles and qualifications should be verified before publication.
Further reading and veterinary resources
These independent resources can help readers find deeper background information. Links are supplied for reference; MiniPigus is not affiliated with their publishers.
- Merck Veterinary Manual — overview of miniature pet pigs
- Merck Veterinary Manual — feeding and nutrition
- American Association of Swine Veterinarians
Where local regulations, feeding advice or health recommendations differ, follow your local authorities and your pig’s veterinary team.
Staying independent and simple
The animal imagery on this site includes AI-generated editorial illustrations. These visuals are illustrative and are not photographs of specific real animals.
MiniPigus is deliberately a lightweight website. It does not require an account, a newsletter subscription or a shopping cart. Our interactive checklist is designed to work directly in your browser. There is no backend storing your answers.
The simplest goal is also the most important: help people ask better questions, make informed decisions and provide a safer, more interesting life for the animals in their care.
Keep exploring the MiniPigus guide.
There is always one more good question to ask.
